At the same time, European anti-dumping regulations against China produced e-bikes and the percentage rules for how much Chinese components can be used on a bike are more pertinent now than ever.

Global bike brands must carefully check how many components specified on a bike is eligible to meet European Union anti-dumping regulations. EU rules specify that at least 70 percent of the ex-works price of the e-bikes exported to the EU must be made with Taiwanese manufactured components such as frames, mid-motors, batteries, etc. With a large percentage of bike frames produced in China intended for complete bicycle assembly in Taiwan, electric bikes with components from China must be extra careful as it can easily surpass the 70/30 percent rule.
